PhD Membrane fractionation of Agro-materials at high viscosities: Wageningen University, The Netherlands

Function Requirements
We look for a highly motivated, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and result-driven PhD candidate with an appropriate MSc degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology or a related study. He or she is familiar with Food Processing on industrial scale and has affinity with Physics. The candidate has excellent research skills and analytical abilities. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (both oral and written) are prerequisites.
 
Working conditions
We offer you a temporary position for a period of 1.5 years with extension of 2.5 years after successful evaluation. Gross salary per month € 2083,- in the first year rising up to € 2664,- per month in the fourth year.

We not only offer a competitive salary but also good (study) leave and a pension of the ABP Pension Fund.

Organization
The candidate will be working in the Food Process Engineering group at Wageningen University. The Food Process Engineering group at Wageningen UR has experience and expertise in isolation, fractionation and purification of valuable components from raw materials and rest streams. Important expertise is on the link between product morphology and isolation behaviour, thermodynamic and kinetic understanding of underlying processes, and exergy oriented process system design. The chair Sustainable Production of Food aims at the development of tools to revise the Food Process chain towards eco-effective use of the Agro-feedstock. Essential is combining the agro-feedstock components, the aimed functionality of the product portfolio and the optimised enabling technologies.
